Coach Christian Hess is the Director of Tennis at PPRSC, operating Heroes Tennis Academy (HTA), offering clinics and lessons to junior and adult players.

A Charlotte native and 15-year tennis veteran, Coach Christian has competed across the Americas and coached coast to coast. He energizes every session, coaching students as young as 4, and now leads both MRC and Heroes Tennis. Off court, he enjoys basketball, good food, and time with family.

About Heroes Tennis Academy

Founded in late 2020 in Matthews, NC, by Coach Christian Hess—made possible through the support of George Lovitt, Kavir Kumar (Head Coach at Johnson C. Smith University), Michael Hess, and many others—HTA began as Coach Christian’s private teaching practice. It has since grown into a thriving tennis community built on passion, excellence, and collaboration.

After years of coaching across the United States, including a successful stint with Charlotte International, Coach Christian made the risky decision to work privately with a vision: to provide top-tier tennis instruction for athletes of all ages and skill levels. In the early days, lessons took place on any courts available. As word spread about the success and satisfaction of HTA athletes and their families, the need for more courts and coaches quickly became clear.

Today, HTA includes elite teaching professionals with outstanding junior, collegiate, and professional careers. Beyond their playing experience, HTA coaches bring intelligence, creativity, and dedication to the court. Together, they have worked with over 250 families in the past five years—and that number continues to grow.

Our mission is to elevate the member experience at PPRSC. Through a personalized approach, HTA pros deliver unmatched energy and coaching, creating a fun, challenging, and rewarding environment. We offer junior and adult clinics, tournaments, and junior leagues, helping individuals and teams enhance their performance and enjoyment of the game.
