Bill brings his vast knowledge of the game to PPRSC to help
every player reach their potential. Bill has taught tennis to all
levels and coached on the professional circuit, the ATP and
WTA tours for over 15 years, and coached at over 25 Grand
Slam events. Bill has been a USPTA Level 1 certified Tennis
Professional for over 25 years. He enjoys teaching and/or
coaching 5 year olds to 90 year olds, beginners to Grand Slam

Champions; Andy Roddick, Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario,
Claudia Kohde-Kilsch (Doubles) and Greg Rusedski
(Finalist in Pros, Doubles Jr. Champ). He has worked
with 3 record holders of the world’s fastest serve,
Andy Roddick, Greg Rusedski, and Brenda Schultz.
Bill speaks Spanish, German and English fluently and
has taught tennis in the U.S., Spain, Germany, Austria,
Japan, Hong Kong, Canada and Puerto Rico. Before
coming to Charlotte, he was the Tennis Director at The
New Orleans Lawn Tennis Club. Upon arrival there, the
tennis program was non-existent. After one year there,
Bill developed a program with 5 teaching professionals,
over 100 hours of lessons, weekly men’s nights,
women’s mixers, monthly socials, and a complete Jr. Development program from grass roots all the way to Division One
college players and touring pros, and ran a fully stocked pro shop with over $35,000 in inventory.
After the Canadian Federation Cup coaching job he returned to Charlotte and he can be found on the courts teaching at
After seven years he moved to Charlotte, as Bill was offered the position of Tennis Director at Providence Country Club
where he had a successful adult and junior program with 4 pros. After 2 years there, he was offered the Canadian Federation
Cup Coach Job. Coaching a Fed Cup or Davis Cup Team had always been a goal of his, so after much deliberation with his
wife Liz, and 2 children, Bill signed a 2 year contract.

Tennis Pro, Matt Corey
Matt Corey, USPTA Certified Elite Professional, was born in 1974 in Bowie, Maryland. He was the #1 ranked Mid Atlantic
doubles player in the 18 & under division in 1991. As an adult player, he is rated 5.0 with the USTA. He has taught tennis for
21 years, in Tallahassee, Fl, Williamsburg, VA, and now Charlotte, NC. Students of his have won 8 state high school individual
titles, and have gone on to play Division 1,2, and 3 NCAA tennis. He has been a certified tester with the USPTA since 2004.
