2023 PPRSC Rules & Regulations

TENNIS

  • Court Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Clay courts must be cleaned after play including brushing the court and lines. 
  • Lights are to be turned off by players when play ends and last person on court leaves.
  • NO glass containers allowed on courts.
  • All trash, including ball cans and used tennis balls, should to be placed in trash receptacles.
  • No bikes, skateboards are allowed on courts.

Court Order of Play Priority:

  1. League Play
  2. Club Events
  3. Lessons/Clinics
  4. Member Play

Guests:

Members in good standing may invite a guest to play with the member up to three (3) times per calendar year. Each time a guest is invited to play by a member, the guest is to pay a fee of $5.00 court fee per each guest. Members are to be registered and fee paid to the Tennis Director prior to play. Courts are to be reserved and guests are to be identified by name on the PPRSC website.  Guests are allowed on USTA teams only after paying a $35 league fee to the Club.  This entitles the guest one "practice" day per week and one "match" day per week during the league season.

Reservations:

  • Court reservations may be made up to one week in advance for two hours at a time.

Dress Code:

  • Only tennis attire is allowed on the tennis court. No tank tops, jeans, swim suits, flip flops, dark soled shoes.
  • Shirts are required.
  • In the event the proper tennis attire is not available, the player will be asked to leave.

Damage:

  • Any damage caused to the tennis courts or surrounding facilities will result in a bill to the offender to repair the damage or replace the damaged property.

Instruction:

  • Instruction is only allowed by the PPRSC tennis staff.
  • Court 4 will always be designated teaching court unless league play in scheduled.

 

POOL

 

  • No one is allowed to be on site during non-operating hours.  If the gates are locked, the pool is closed, and there will be no entry.
  • No glass of any kind is allowed on the pool deck. If any glass is broken on the deck, the pool must be drained. The member(s) responsible for broken glass on the pool deck can be held responsible for the cost to refill the pool by a third-party vendor.
  • All members and guests must register at the designated sign in area.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children 12 years of age or older who are unattended are responsible for adhering to all club rules.
  • The pool staff is not responsible for children outside of the pool area.
  • The pool management staff is given full authority to enforce all swimming pool rules and to close the pool in the event of inclement weather. Weather delays or closures will be determined by the lifeguards. This may include being asked to leave the pool deck or facility as determined by the lifeguard staff.
  • Lifeguards have the authority to ask members to leave the club premises at any time for the remainder of the day if they feel they are being harmful to themselves or other members.
  • Lifeguards may bench minors for up to 15 minutes. The “bench” area is the along the clubhouse, behind the lifeguard stand.
  • All accidents must be reported to the pool staff.
  • The pool staff can require children to demonstrate swimming ability and will classify them as swimmer or non-swimmer. Children who are non-swimmers, regardless of age, must be accompanied in the pool by a parent or other responsible adult at all times.
  • A 10 minute pool break may be signaled each hour for children under 18.
  • Swim team meets and practice times will be posted to inform members of pool closings.
  • The pool is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Lost and found should be checked as items will be donated throughout the summer.
  • The Mecklenburg County Health Department Rules and Regulations concerning bathing places will govern the health and safety of this pool. These include the rules on the handling of human waste and vomit in public pools. These rules are mandatory and procedures for handling these situations must be followed by our pool staff. These rules and regulations are posted in the pool area.
  • All swimmers must shower before entering the pool.
  • Appropriate swimming attire must be worn. Cutoffs are not allowed.
  • Walk at all times on the pool deck.
  • No running, pushing, horseplay or shoulder-riding.
  • No cartwheel or round-off entry into the pool, including off the board, is allowed.
  • Do not hang on lane ropes.
  • Swimming is not allowed when lifeguards are not on duty or when the pool is closed.
  • Food, gum, drinks, or tobacco products are not allowed in the water.
  • No “mermaid tails” or other devices that impede the arms or legs is allowed.
  • Floats, tubes, and rafts are not allowed in the pool. The exception is fun noodles which must be used in the shallow end. Water wings are permitted in the shallow end if the child is supervised by a parent who is also in the water.
  • Children who are not toilet trained are not allowed in the main pool unless wearing an approved swim diaper. Absolutely no diapers, training pants, or plastic pants allowed in the pool.
  • Parental supervision within the gate is required at all times for children in the baby pool. No lifeguard will be on duty. The baby pool is open and available for use during the morning hours, when the main pool is devoted to swim lessons and swim team practice.
  • POOL GUEST POLICY:  Guests of members are welcome, but must be accompanied by a member. Guest fees of $5 per guest will be charged to member’s snack shack account at time of visit. Guests who are residents of Mecklenburg County or Union County are limited to three visits per calendar year.

DIVING BOARD RULES

 

  • Pool management/lifeguards may restrict diving at any time.
  • No diving allowed in water less than five feet deep (shallow end).
  • No backwards diving from the side of the pool.
  • Only one person allowed on the diving board at a time.
  • No hanging from the diving board.
  • No diving from the side of the diving board.
  • No free swimming is allowed in the diving well (area directly in front of diving board).
  • Non-swimmers are not allowed in the diving area.
  • No backward entry, cartwheels or round offs allowed off the diving board.
  • You cannot catch a child jumping from the diving board.       

 

SNACK SHACK

  • Each family has an account for the pool snack shack. 
  • Money can be added to member’s account either by a check made out to PPRSC or online (instructions sent out at the beginning of each season).
  • Accounts with a negative balance will not be able to make additional purchases.
  • It is the member’s responsibility to check their snack shack balance.

 

DECK PARTIES

  • Deck parties are free of charge of charge to members.  Tables and chairs cannot be reserved; it is first come, first serve. 
  • Deck parties must be put on the pool calendar; contact Sara Mayse to reserve date.
  • A $5 guest fee is required for each non-member and will be deducted from the member’s snack shack account at the time of the deck party.
  • If there will be 8 or more non-member guests, you must contact AquaTech at least one week in advance to hire an extra lifeguard.  The cost is expected to be $18 per additional guard per hour.
  • Members are expected to clean up completely after the event.  
  • Deck parties are not allowed on holidays or the busiest weekend hours.  

 

CLUBHOUSE

  • The hours for renting the Clubhouse are as follows: 10AM to 10PM (maximum use: 4 hours).
  • If you are interested in renting the clubhouse please contact us at pprscclubhouse@gmail.com.
  • The clubhouse has a capacity of 40 guests.
  • Renting the clubhouse gives you exclusive access to the clubhouse and kitchen during the time of your event.  Fees are outlined below:

Member Fees: $100 Rental fee, $200 refundable deposit, and an optional $100 cleaning fee if you do not want to clean the clubhouse after your party.

Non-Member Fees: $200 Rental fee, $200 refundable deposit, and an optional $100 cleaning fee if you do not want to clean the clubhouse after your party. 

  • Rental of the clubhouse does not include use of the pool deck space when the pool is not open for regular swim hours.
  • If you rent the clubhouse for a party during open pool hours, you DO NOT need to pay guest fees for up to 20 non-member guests who would like to swim.

The renting party shall:

  • Be completely responsible for their guests at all times.
  • Assume full responsibility for any damage to the Clubhouse, or to articles in the Clubhouse, and for theft of any property.
  • Clubhouse parking lot and street parking only will be permitted. No parking in residential areas.
  • Remove all trash after event has concluded and place it in the main dumpster in the parking lot.
  • Clean clubhouse as per terms of the contract.
  • Return all furniture to original place.
  • Lock the clubhouse at conclusion of event and lights turned off.

 

SOCIAL

  • Social events will be communicated to the membership via email.
  • Some social events may require an additional fee to attend.

 

The board of directors have full authority to interpret and enforce these rules. Failure to courteously comply may result in disciplinary action.
